COACHING THOSE WITH ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDERS
It's becoming more and more common for some
people to have their ADHD diagnosed when they
are adults. ĘThey get their medication, certainly,
and some initial short-term support.
When this runs out, their initial relief at
the diagnosis drains away, and in some ways
they start to feel worse off than ever and feel
they are coping less well than they did before
they had an explanation for their problems.
That's about the point at which my clients
come to me.
What I do is identify and share key strategies,
that will help them be coached successfully,
whether it's personal coaching or mentoring
in the workplace.
As a result they learn what to do that works
for them and they stop wasting time using strategies
that usually won't work. The real benefit to
them is they start to enhance their quality
of life, achieve a better work life balance,
manage their relationships with others more
effectively, feel more satisfaction, and avoid
frustration.
I have post-graduate training in orthopedagogics,
and a record of success in working with people
of all ages, whose lives or whose learning have
been challenged by dyslexia or by ADHD. |
